I lost my best guy friend to suicide in the middle of my weight loss journey. I wrote a small short story about our relationship and our last encounter. This book is for anyone who has ever lost someone to suicide or who has ever considered suicide as an option for themselves. The intent behind this book is to start a conversation and break the stigma associated with mental illness. The pain of losing a loved one is always deep…the pain of losing a loved one to suicide is so much deeper on so many levels. These stories will touch you, let you know things will get better, and that you are not alone.

How to Shop and Eat Healthy on a Budget. A Quick How-To Guide Without Breaking the Bank E-Book–May 1, 2017

by Almetria Turner (Author)

Finding the time to shop, cook and wanting to eat healthy is a constant challenge. Many people think eating healthy is expensive, but not eating healthy is more expensive in the long run. Time and health are two of the most valuable and abused intangibles that we take for granted.

This book explains how shopping and eating healthy doesn’t have to fall into what I call the 3B myths of healthy eating…bland, boring or a budget buster. With a little planning and discipline on your part, not only will this book teach you how to save money, but it will also help you save time, possible doctors’ visits, and unwanted calories by eating out and making unhealthy choices. Let The Healthy Budgetnista help you become financially fit with your grocery budget and fit in your kitchen.

At the end of 2016, I declared 2017 was going to be my “Year of Yes” in saying yes to doing more of the things that made me happy, become mentally and physically stronger, and doing more of the things I normally wouldn’t do out of fear or uncertainty.

The number 40 is a significant number for me because in 2010, I developed a mantra of “Fit by 40” where I had given myself 4 years before I turned the age of 40 to transform my life and body from the inside out. Mission accomplished.

40 is also a significant number found throughout the bible in the context of trials and tribulations. In Genesis, when God destroyed the earth with water, it rained for 40 days and 40 nights. When Moses killed the Egyptian, he fled to Midian and spent 40 years in the desert tending to flocks. He was on Mt. Sinai for 40 days and 40 nights receiving God’s laws. The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years. Jesus was tempted for 40 days and 40 nights. There were 40 days between Jesus’s resurrection and ascension from earth. These were just a few of the examples where the number 40 was mentioned in the bible.

Life teaches us lessons. Some were made for you to learn, while some were made for others to learn through you. I’m a work in constant process.

The Year of Yes: Yielding Exponential Strength is a book filled with 40 daily reflections and lessons I’ve learned along the way that will enlighten, uplift and strengthen your spirit. It will make you think about your own life’s journey, the people whom you will meet and come into relationship with, and how the world needs your particular light to shine bright and never to go dim.

Declare this year as your year of yes in yielding exponential strength throughout your life by saying yes to the things that will make your spirit happy, heart happy, and most of all God happy.
