Freedom Friday: Square Pegs and Circular Holes

img_20170210_085809_475At this point in your life, the circumference of your circle should be small or growing smaller. Everyone is not designed to fit into your circle or you into theirs. Guard your heart, thoughts, and values for everyone can’t grasp what He has planned for you nor do they offer wise counsel (Psalms 1:1).

Don’t compromise who you are just to “fit” into what appears to be the “happening” circle. That’s just like forcing a square peg into a circular hole. Once you realize it wasn’t the right fit and finally decide to walk away, you will see that you carved your way into a situation you were never meant to be in and stripped of your very being, the things you once thought you believed in, had hopes for, and desired would come to pass.

Today, pray for a spirit of discernment in making better choices in who you let into your inner circle, can accept you for who you are, where you are going, and what you stand for. As your circle decreases, those who were not meant to be in it will “squeeze” their way out of it because they can’t handle the pressure of you having higher standards for yourself, those around you, or where you’re going.

You already have the tools within you to get yourself back into shape. It’s just a matter of picking up the toolbelt and deciding to rebuild your life. Put it into the Master’s hands.
