Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always wanted to go to Tuscany, other parts of Italy and Martha’s Vineyard. Why? I don’t know. Being a little girl from Orange Mound, the idea sounded far fetched because how could a little girl like me from a poor but rich in spirit community ever dream of such a trip like this.
As I’ve gotten older, with a different outlook on life, I know anything is possible for those who believe. I can imagine riding the river in a gondola, walking the cobblestone streets shopping and speaking to the natives, eating authentic Italian food and cruising the country side on a cute bike with a wicker basket filled with fresh bread, wine for my girlfriends, different types of cheeses, meats, pasta and other goodies to whip up a fabulous meal, have a beautiful picnic or take a cooking class.
I can see me cruising through Spring on my bike in Martha’s Vineyard with my natural hair pinned up blowing in the wind, cultured pearls around my neck and a beautiful tulle skirt. I can’t ride my bike in heels of course, so some cute sneaks would have to do lol which brings me to week three of our Spring Trends Blogger Collaboration.
This week’s theme is “tulle.” I wasn’t quite sure how I would look in a tulle skirt since I’m not a Magnificent Misty Copeland, but I am an Awesome Almetria lol. This year’s fashion pantone color of the year is Ultra Violet. I borrowed a gray tulle skirt from one of my sorority sisters, and I knew the color of the year would go perfectly with the skirt. It’s the perfect outfit, paired with a cute clutch for a Spring wedding or a Girl’s High Tea.
A few of my blogger boos headed over to Crosstown Concourse to take a few pics and I found the perfect spot in front of Cheryl Pesce’s store to go right along with my childhood dream and Spring outfit. With flowers in the background and me posed sitting upon a cruiser bike, the photoshoot, scenery and fun times with the ladies couldn’t have been better or make my dreams come true. The dream isn’t lost. It just hasn’t come to pass….yet! I will get there.
